Relax and Chill House - By Tianna Andrea

Relax and Chill House - By Tianna Andrea

Chill House is a destination for all your modern self-care needs. This wellness boutique is home to a cafe, spa, and nail salon. It exudes an upbeat chic energy, offering a hybrid of affordable wellness services and membership programs. Just what every New Yorker needs, to unwind from the harsh environments of the everyday hustle. This eclectic new spot opened its doors in 2017, on the Lower East Side in New York City but aesthetically embodies a Miami Beach, Art Deco vibe. With a wide selection of assorted beverage options there is also a relaxing seating area by the windows so you can take-in the City breeze while you sip on CBD infused teas, wine, beer, or lattes - your choice.

An eye catching wall display of merchandise, oils, creams, candles and nail polish. I couldn’t help but aim my phone to take a selfie as I heard a little voice in my head saying “Treat Yourself”

So what makes this establishment so unique and desirable by millennials?

“Research has shown that young Americans are struggling with record-high rates of issues like depression, anxiety, and loneliness. These conditions have many causes, but research has found that they are likely driven in part by stress including a divisive political and social climate, financial concerns and social media. Rates of nearly every health problem that most commonly affects younger Americans rose from 2014 to 2017, according to the report. Behavioral health issues were especially widespread among millennials. Major depression rates increased in this population by 31% from 2014 to 2017.

There is a great desire to feel better through beauty and wellness routines. With both components hand-in-hand if we feel our best we will be and do our best. If we take care of our selves, nurture our bodies, and realign our minds we are better equipped to be present and prepared for what’s to come. As this generation shifts into an era that’s becoming more consciously aware about their mental health and wellness, I see this business really thriving.

Founder Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton has catapulted Chill House into a hip and modern vibe in the wellness arena. With her keen sense in the hospitality industry and a strong following from her former creation Taste of Style blog which was circled around conversations of food, fashion, and NYC style. She has truly captivated an eclectic narrative for wellness with this brick and mortar. What I really appreciated most about her vision is her capacity to be able to host many services in one location. I lived in the City most of my life and maneuvering to get to your nail stylist, get a coffee on your way and try to leave on time to get to your deep tissue message appointment, was damn near impossible, time consuming, and draining. Running around the city should not be part of your wellness routine, now here is your one stop shop and you can have it all.

We reached out to Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton for an exclusive but was was unable to tie down a feature interview. We did have the pleasure of bumping into her social media and marketing team when we visited, they were steady at work taking pictures for the Chill House social visuals. My photographer, Ghaze and I were relaxing, and enjoying our Purple Haze CBD Drinks while we “chilled” out on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. Many came in for different services, beverages, or to just take a look. We were surprised to see steady foot traffic in the store and what seemed like many regulars.

What I admire most about the vision of The Chill House is the founder herself, being an everyday girl with a dream and making it into her reality. With a strong surge of entrepreneurs building major brands and a strong focus for millennials today to work for themselves. Many don’t fit into one mold and exploring our creatives paths can also lead to success. It’s all about risks, leveraging your resources, and finding your niche.
